Workshop "Linux and Open Source" at Dilthey school
I organized together with some friends a linux-project to introduce younger students into the wonderful operation system linux. Although we got only very slow computers, it was a big success and the kids (age: 13 to 17) learned a lot.
We began with the installation of SUSE LINUX 8.2 on the very old computers (because of our new solaris computer system at out school we got only the discarded P-I maschines to experiment).
The installation take several hours, so we watched some movies and fun with other things.
After that we taught the kids howto use Linux and the bash. They also learned something about THE editor vi and of course something about networks.
